Some people don't just join communities — they help build them.

They share useful opportunities. They connect people. They support others living with similar experiences and very often, they're the person others turn to for information.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Become a Patient First Research Advocate

Our Advocate Scheme is for members who would like to play a more active role in helping us grow our community of genuine UK patients and caregivers.

You might run or participate in a patient support group, be active within an online community, have connections with others living with a particular condition, or simply be someone who loves bringing people together.

As an Advocate, you can help introduce more people to Patient First Research and the opportunities available to them.

That means helping more people to:

Earn — through paid healthcare research opportunities.

Learn — about research and developments relevant to healthcare.

Make a difference — by sharing the real experiences researchers need to hear.

More voices. Better research.

The wider and more diverse our community becomes, the more experiences we can represent in healthcare research — including people and conditions that can sometimes be difficult for researchers to reach.

That's why our Advocates can play such an important role.

We'll provide the information and resources you need to help you spread the word, and there will be opportunities to receive personal rewards or support charitable causes through your activity.

You don't need professional experience or thousands of social media followers. We're much more interested in people who are genuine, enthusiastic and connected to the communities around them.
